NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel) refers to Dryseal American National Standard Tapered Pipe Threads. They do not require a sealant due to being formed by metal to metal contact.
High Speed Steel (HSS) provides good wear-resistance and can be used in general purpose applications for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
elektraLUBE prevents welding, loading and galling between the tap and the workpiece. It is commonly used on stainless steels, high nickel alloys, aluminum and copper. elektraLUBE is a proprietary coating exclusive to OSG Tap and Die, Inc.
Short projection pipe taps are used for shallow hole applications. They are ideal, for the internal threading of pipes and pipe fittings.
Bottoming chamfers are used for threading blind holes to the bottom. They have 1 to 2 threads.
