Modified bottoming is similar to bottoming, but the chamfer is longer and has more teeth. They are used for threading blind holes and have 2 to 2-1/2 threads.
High Speed Steel (HSS) provides good wear-resistance and can be used in general purpose applications for both ferrous and nonferrous materials.
AL2 Plus is TiAlN blended coating designed for high speed machining for its heat resistance and lubricity. It has a high hardness and works well on alloy and carbon steel, cast iron and stainless steel. AL2 Plus is proprietary coating of LMT.
